Direct Connect to R6

// 网上有人说natawareclient比enterpriseclient更适合家庭使用,如果natawareclient不行就试试enterpriseclient。
- This method is not guaranteed to work; it is written based on my personal experience.
- This method cannot fully replace an accelerator; it only provides a way to save money (by not using an accelerator).
This method only offers a way to connect to servers and play Rainbow Six without using an accelerator. Its actual performance is not better than using an accelerator. Connecting to the server when launching the game and loading the match list takes 2–3 minutes, and after each match, you need to wait a minute to return to the main menu.
But not using an accelerator means saving money, and I love free stuff the most.
I just reinstalled my system last week and found that after using the accelerator, Rainbow Six’s voice chat wouldn’t work (Tencent Accelerator). But since I had VIP last week and it was still playable, I didn’t bother with it. However, this week my accelerator subscription expired, so I had to try fixing the NAT type to see if I could connect directly without it.
Honestly, Tencent Accelerator is really annoying. Its acceleration effect is comparable to third-tier accelerators, and they even have VIP and SVIP tiers…
Off-topic note: Ubisoft’s customer support is really something. Last Sunday night they told me my account was permanently banned due to “malicious behavior.” I submitted a support ticket on Monday, got no reply by Wednesday, submitted another one on Wednesday, and it wasn’t resolved until Friday. Finally, they said, “Due to technical reasons, your account was mistakenly banned.” I spent the whole week at school worrying about it…
Press WIN+I to open Settings, go to Gaming → Xbox network, wait for the circle to finish spinning, and check the Xbox Live multiplayer section. If the NAT type is Open, press CTRL+W—this blog post won’t help you.
My ISP is China Mobile. I chose it because their broadband was cheap, but it performs much worse for gaming compared to my classmates’ China Telecom connections. China Mobile puts your home router inside another large local area network (at the community or city level), which is why it’s jokingly called the “wall within a wall”~~ lol ~~, making it harder to connect to overseas game servers.
First, click “Fix it” at the bottom of the Xbox Live multiplayer section, restart your computer, and check again if the NAT type has changed to Open. If that solves it, then great!
Manually Enable Teredo
If, unfortunately, (which is the case for most people, as the simple “Fix it” button often doesn’t work) it doesn’t fix the issue, you’ll need to manually enable Teredo.
Open PowerShell or Command Prompt, and enter:

// Some people online say natawareclient is more suitable for home use than enterpriseclient. If natawareclient doesn’t work, try enterpriseclient.
Restart your computer and check the NAT type again.
For me, this was already enough to solve the problem, and Rainbow Six voice chat also started working (pleasant surprise!).
